About Lafayette Parish Waterworks District South
Lafayette Parish Waterworks District South began serving customers in the Judice area in 1982. The
system has since grown to supply water to most of the southwestern area of Lafayette Parish. LPWDS
once produced water from two deep water wells, but eventually closed its plant in 2006 and currently
purchases all of its water from Lafayette Utilities System. Today, LPWDS serves over 4,200 customers
and has over 100 miles of water lines.
